AQUA-SE does Research
We knew that we developed an excellent product.
Recently, however, we came to know how good we really are. We proudly announce AQUA-SE GmbH’s future cooperation with IMARE - Institute for Marine Resources GmbH, Bremerhaven (a spin-off of Alfred-Wegener-Institute and Hochschule Bremerhaven) in the fields of research and development. Within this cooperation AQUA-SE GmbH will supply a rotating filter for research purposes, and participate in research and development.
Advertising a science-based and applicable know-how, especially within the competence network „marine technologies“, to the industry is IMARE’s goal the field of aqua culture.
Worldwide, commercial aquaculture of marine organisms is mainly conducted in coastal areas. Marine aquaculture (mariculture in brief) systems are off-shore enclosures, or land-based flow-through or recirculation systems. Creating optimal conditions for growth and reproduction of the cultured organisms an important task especially in land-based systems.
IMARE’s expertise in marine aquaculture is based on the development of modern culture techniques, comprising experience in facility design, site selection, choice of optimal collector types for the colonization by stock, and physiology and ecology of cultivable organisms.
Marine aquaculture for sustainable fisheries at the IMARE comprises three core areas:
- Recirculation technology
- Pelagic technology (near-shore to off-shore)
- Sustainable fisheries
